Emily & Cole were married on December 12th, 2015 at Range Line Presbyterian Church in Houstonia, MO. I knew that when I photographed this couple’s engagement session that their wedding was going to be a blast, and I was right! I arrived at the church around 1:00 to photograph details and some shots of the girls getting ready. I usually start with photographing the dress by itself outside of the church. Luckily I had some help from the family to help me hang the dress up 😉 The ceremony itself happened in the blink of an eye. “7 minutes” is what I overheard after the groom looked at his watch. But the more weddings I photograph the more I realize how common it actually is to have a wedding last under 20 minutes! After the couple said “I do” we headed straight to the reception. I love that Emily (the bride) made her entrance into the reception hall drinking a pepsi. They had a projection screen with slides setup of the proposal and some engagement/couple’s shots running and the decorations were perfect for a december wedding.
What I’ll remember most about this wedding is Cole’s desire to recreate his parent’s wedding photo; posed on the church stage as husband and wife. I also LOVED seeing a shy kid come out of his shell and dance to the “watch me nae nae” song.
